Labels:bulletin board | daily | monitor | sky OCR: During the golden years of Route 66, Townley's Milk was one of the biggest dairies in Oklahoma City and delivered its fresh milk to 90% of its customers every morning. While the delivery side of the business has declined since the 1950's this sign has become an Oklahoma City landmark. Pictured here 1955 Divco delivery truck, appropriately coming around the corner in the dark. In the 1940's milkman' delivery route started at 4:00AM when he arrived at the dairy to pick up truck and finished sometime around 8:00 to make sure his customers were all enjoying fresh milk and eggs for breakfast. When cruising through Oklahoma City, keep an eye out for the Townley Milk sign. It's a great place to stop for genuine Route 66 photo shot. customer sigr Iandmark deliven dainy
